About Stop Drop and Troll – Salmon Fishing Charters in British Columbia

A bit about us

Stop Drop and Troll Adventures Ltd. was founded in spring 2023 to share our love of fishing with more people. Within a year, we were running a busy schedule and seeing the joy our guests experience on the water.

Fishing opportunities are essential, but our top priority is giving every guest a safe and unforgettable experience. We offer tours for every type of angler. Full-day trips target trophy salmon, while half-day excursions suit families or first-time fishers. No matter your experience, we craft trips designed to create your ideal fishing adventure.

why we fish from Different Locations

Many guests ask why we move between Vancouver and Ucluelet. The truth is simple: we follow the fish to maximize your catch.

During summer, Chinook retention in Vancouver is closed, so we head to Ucluelet. This location has abundant bottom fish like halibut, lingcod, and rockfish. At the same time, migrating Chinook and Coho feed offshore, creating red-hot salmon fishing for about two months.

By late August, we return to Vancouver. Guests can enjoy West Vancouver fishing and the prime Fraser River Delta opening for big Chinook through October.

Meet captain Al

Captain Al moved to the Sea to Sky corridor in British Columbia in 1999. His passion for saltwater fishing grew quickly in these waters.

He began offshore fishing in Nootka Sound and became an expert in salmon, lingcod, and halibut fishing along the BC coast, including Vancouver, Barkley Sound, and Ucluelet. With his experience, he puts guests on fish while keeping trips fun, safe, and memorable.

Al is also a ticketed butcher and avid hunter, with a strong respect for wildlife. This philosophy guides his trips, balancing excitement with conservation. In 2023, he launched Stop Drop and Troll Adventures. Whether you are a seasoned angler or a first-time fisher, his energetic, laid-back approach ensures you leave with more than a catch — a lasting memory.
